After 5.5 years, the physics is still wrong!!!

Why does Sonic stop in mid air and drop when you stop holding down the d-pad? He should keep going in a parabolic motion like in the old game, just like in real life. Its unrealistic to have him fall like that. Also, why does the screen have to turn around when sonic goes in a loop. Thats totally unnecessary. Keep it simple!!!
